PORTLAND, OREGON, AUG 5 – Jesse Lee Calhoun faces four counts of second-degree murder and abuse of a corpse for killing women in a five-month span, with a trial set for 2027, officials said.
- On Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2025, Multnomah County District Attorney Nathan Vasquez announced Jesse Lee Calhoun was charged with the murder of a fourth woman in Portland.
- Last year, a grand jury indicted Jesse Lee Calhoun on three counts of second-degree murder, connected to Charity Lynn Perry, JoAnna Speaks, and Bridget Leanne Webster.
- Reported missing on Dec. 22, 2022, Kristin Smith’s case, prosecutors allege she was killed on Nov. 20, 2022, and her skull was discovered Feb. 9, 2023, in Southeast Portland’s Pleasant Valley.
- Amid the announcement, Kristin Smith’s family expressed relief, as Vasquez called the investigation very active and a very important step toward justice.
- He remains in custody at Inverness Jail as the case is scheduled for early 2027 trial.
