Jenna Ortega and Rose Byrne Team up for Warner Bros’ Gymnastics Thriller ‘Nasty’
The Black List script follows an Olympic gymnast who must beat her coach, with Jenna Ortega and LuckyChap producing.
Oscar-Nominated actress Rose Byrne and Jenna Ortega are set to star in 'Nasty', a drama from filmmaker Mary Bronstein and LuckyChap Entertainment produced by Warner Bros.' new specialty label Clockwork.
Based on Isabella Jarosz's 2024 Black List screenplay, the film follows a young athlete battling for a spot on the Olympic gymnastics team who must overcome her biggest opponent: her coach.
The project reunites Bronstein and Byrne, who previously collaborated on 'If I Had Legs I'd Kick You', while Ortega returns to Warner Bros. following the $452M worldwide success of 'Beetlejuice Beetlejuice'.
Production begins this fall under the Clockwork banner, which launched this year under former Neon CMO Christian Parkes to develop specialty projects.
Clockwork has also lined up several splashy projects, including Sean Baker's 'Ti Amo!' and 'The Brigands of Rattlecreek', a western featuring Matthew McConaughey, Austin Butler, Pedro Pascal, and Tang Wei.
