Beloved 1980s Animated Series Set for Live-Action Remake From Fallout and Westworld Showrunners

- Amazon MGM Studios is developing an "elevated live-action technothriller series" based on the 1980s cartoon Jem and the Holograms, with Kilter Films producing the project.
- Created by Christy Marx, the animated series debuted in 1985 and followed record company owner Jerrica Benton, who moonlights as singer of the rock band Jem and the Holograms.
- Executive producing are Kilter's Lisa Joy, Jonathan Nolan, and Athena Wickham, alongside Gabriel Marano for Hasbro Entertainment; a 2015 film adaptation failed to recoup its $5 million budget.
- Jem joins Prime Video's growing slate of female-driven coming-of-age content, including established hits The Summer I Turned Pretty and We Were Liars.
