“Obviously this is a tough situation, but we’re back to football,” Lexington football coach Jacob Owens said. “A lot of times when kids are faced with a challenging situation, getting back to sports is what they need. They need that familiarity.”

Jaris Acklin hired as Bombers assistant football coach

Bomber Football Head Coach Steve Ary has added Jaris Acklin to his high school coaching staff. Jaris, the son of Bombers Offensive Coordinator Darin Acklin, will join Ary’s staff for the 2026-27 school year. Acklin will assist his father Darin in coaching the offense and Jaris will be working with the Quarterbacks.
