Japan's new electric SUV lands in Australia
The small electric SUV has 252 kW, a 522 km range and a five-year warranty as Subaru expands its EV lineup.
- Subaru opened pre-orders for the new Subaru Uncharted SUV in Australia, with the AWD model starting from $59,990. Customer deliveries are scheduled to begin in July following the official launch in the coming weeks.
- This launch expands the Subaru electric vehicle lineup as part of efforts to strengthen its position following the New Vehicle Efficiency Standard performance period. The Uncharted directly challenges the Hyundai Kona Electric and Kia EV3 in the competitive small SUV segment.
- The SUV delivers a 522km driving range from its 75kWh battery and produces 252kW from its dual electric motor set-up. Fast charging reaches 10 to 80 percent capacity in roughly 30 minutes.
- Featuring a 14.0-inch central touchscreen and 7.0-inch digital driver display, the Uncharted sits $2000 cheaper than the mid-size Solterra. It includes a five-year unlimited-kilometre warranty with an eight-year/160,000-kilometre battery warranty.
- Subaru offers five-year capped price servicing with intervals every 15,000km or 12 months. The Uncharted currently lacks an ANCAP rating, with safety testing and results still in progress.
