Japan sets multi-billion-dollar chip target

Japan outlined a long-term goal to significantly boost chip production, targeting JPY40 trillion ($252.4 billion) in sales by 2040 after previously aiming for JPY15 trillion by 2030, Nikkei Asia reported.
