After several Japanese beetles have been detected in neighbouring Lindau (Bavaria), the Bavarian State Office for Agriculture (LfL) on Friday identified a quarantine zone that will also affect areas in Vorarlberg due to EU requirements. "The Bavarian regulation, which is now in force, is the legal prerequisite for being able to act in Vorarlberg," says Christian Gantner (ÖVP). Concrete measures are currently being developed.
