Jamming and spoofing: The threat airlines deal with everyday

CITY OF PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA, JUL 11 – Military GPS jamming and spoofing have increased over 200% since 2021, disrupting navigation and raising safety concerns for civilian flights near conflict zones, officials said.

There has been a more than 200 per cent increase in Global Positioning System loss events between 2021 and 2024, according to the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
