Jamie Carragher issues savage response to Bruno Fernandes’ post-match outburst
Carragher called Fernandes a disgrace and blamed his public criticism for deepening pressure on Michael Carrick after United’s 4-1 defeat.
- On Wednesday, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher branded Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes a "disgrace" for publicly questioning manager Michael Carrick's tactics following the team's 4-1 Champions League defeat to Como.
- Fernandes questioned the coaching staff's decision not to press man-to-man, suggesting it allowed Como to gain confidence; the loss leaves United 20th in the Champions League league phase table.
- Carragher criticized Fernandes for having an "awful attitude" and argued he is not "captaincy material," contrasting him unfavorably with former captain Bryan Robson, who never undermined his manager.
- Manager Michael Carrick hit back at Fernandes during his post-match press conference, though Carrick's position is under "serious threat" ahead of Sunday's match against Bournemouth.
- Pundits suggest Manchester United is "rotten from top to bottom," with the club changing managers every season as the team extends its winless streak to seven matches across all competitions.
