Jamie Ager projected to win Democratic primary in North Carolina's 11th Congressional District
Jamie Ager secured nearly 65% of the vote in the Democratic primary, positioning him to challenge incumbent Chuck Edwards in a district trending Democratic after 2024.
On March 3, 2026, CBS News and the Associated Press projected Jamie Ager, Hickory Nut Gap Farms CEO and Democratic nominee, to win North Carolina's 11th District primary.
Last week, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee named Ager to its Red to Blue program, supporting him in a district that swung most toward Democrats in 2024.
Regional totals posted at 10:31 p.m. showed Jamie Ager with 49,077 votes to Richard Hudspeth, physician and former Blue Ridge Health CEO, with 12,027 as all 291 precincts reported.
Shortly after 9 p.m., Ager declared victory at Trailside Brewing in Hendersonville and said 'I think that we all see a path forward where we have to win this campaign. And, to me, that's what the primary was about.'
This is a district that voted for Donald Trump by about nine points in 2024, yet the Cook Political Report shifted the race to 'Likely Republican,' amid Hurricane Helene recovery issues and district trends.
