James McAvoy Says Jealous Co-Star Bullied Him on 'Band of Brothers'
McAvoy said a castmate and friends laughed at him for about 3 minutes on his first day as a professional actor.
On Monday, James McAvoy revealed on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen that he was bullied by a co-star during his first day as a professional actor on the set of Band of Brothers.
Tension arose because McAvoy had more dialogue than actors who spent months filming the HBO miniseries. "I come in for one episode, and I've got an arc and scenes," McAvoy noted.
A co-star and his buddies stood pointing at McAvoy, laughing at him for "like three minutes." Dexter Fletcher and Robin Laing intervened, telling him, "Come hang with us, man."
Despite the difficult day, McAvoy rated the overall project a nine out of 10, though he gave that specific day a two. He declined to name the bully during his Oct. 12 appearance.
Since his early role as Private First Class James W. Miller, McAvoy has starred in major films including The Last King of Scotland, Atonement, Wanted, and several X-Men movies as Professor Charles Xavier.
