Jake Paul Opponent Set For MVP Christmas Eve Spectacle In Dubai
The professionally sanctioned eight-round cruiserweight bout will use 10oz gloves and marks Paul’s return after a loss to Anthony Joshua.
On Monday, Most Valuable Promotions announced Jake Paul will face Cedric Doumbe in an eight-round cruiserweight match at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai on Christmas Eve.
Paul is returning to action 12 months after suffering a broken jaw in his stoppage loss to Anthony Joshua, having previously indicated his boxing career was "most definitely" in doubt.
Cameroonian-Born Frenchman Doumbe is a multi-time kickboxing world champion who transitioned to MMA; the 34-year-old holds a 6-1 MMA record and will compete in his second professional boxing match.
Doumbe responded to the announcement by claiming he would "finish the job Joshua started," while Paul invited him to discuss the match face-to-face at press conferences next week in Paris and Dubai.
The cruiserweight contest at the 200lb limit will feature 10-ounce gloves, and tickets for the Christmas Eve event go on sale to the general public on November 15.
