- On Thursday, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha handed appointment letters to 41 Next of Kin of Jammu Division terror victims at the Convention Centre in Jammu, also covering 22 age-relaxation beneficiaries and 19 wards of police martyrs.
- Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, Sinha said the move aims to change lives and restore justice to 135 Jammu Division families deliberately deprived for decades.
- Sinha said, `We have not bought peace, but established peace...`, paying homage to victims' long wait for justice during the ceremony attended by senior officials including DGP Nalin Prabhat.
- Sinha warned that elements spreading misinformation or fanning separatism will face stringent legal action, urged community and social organisations to support J&K Police, and reiterated commitment to stabilising victims' economic security.
- Earlier, on July 28, 2025, Sinha had handed appointment letters to 94 NoKs, reflecting ongoing relief amid 41,949 victims recorded through 2019 and longstanding cases like the Naseeb Singh case.
