The Institute of Southeast Asian Affairs (ISW) recalled that yesterday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov gave an interview to American television in which he stated that there are currently no plans for a meeting between Putin and Zelensky, and that Putin will meet "when the summit plan is ready."
Moscow is preventing a meeting between the presidents of Ukraine and Russia because it fears that Vladimir Putin will suffer reputational damage, the Institute for War Studies reported. Analysts explained what these damages would entail.
Putin and Zelensky are unlikely to meet in the near future, ISW estimates.
