The government's goal is for the Hungarian Development Bank to once again operate as a true development bank, meaning that it should not only provide financing, but also act as a partner in the long term to support Hungarian enterprises capable of developing, said István Kapitány, Minister of Economy and Energy, in a Facebook video published on Wednesday, in which he detailed the planned use of EU funds going to the MFB.

The Hungarian Development Bank (MFB) has received a capital increase of 645 billion forints from EU funds, from which the government would finance Hungarian enterprises, the capital market and housing investments, and by involving private capital, it would mobilize resources in the order of a thousand billion, announced István Kapitány, Minister of Economy and Energy.

Hungary has created the conditions for the Hungarian Development Bank (MFB) to use 1.8 billion euros (about 645 billion forints) of EU funds after it has completed the corporate governance reforms required by the recovery plan.
