Israel’s Katz vows to strike Beirut’s southern suburbs over any rocket or drone fire
On Tuesday, Defense Minister Israel Katz warned Israel could expand military maneuvers toward the Nabatieh and Litani areas if Hezbollah joins an Iranian attack on Israel.
Israel has established a 700-square-kilometre security zone inside Lebanon, displacing around 200,000 residents and demolishing over 60 villages containing 23,000 homes, according to Katz.
The IDF will target Beirut's Dahieh district if Hezbollah launches drones toward Israel, while Katz ruled out any Israeli withdrawal until Hezbollah is disarmed throughout Lebanon.
Military delegations from Israel and Lebanon held United States-mediated talks Tuesday at Central Command headquarters in Tampa, Florida, amid escalating regional tensions.
Although a framework agreement outlined a gradual Israeli withdrawal, forces remain in southern Lebanon and ongoing attacks have displaced over 1.5 million residents since March.
The Israeli Minister of War once again threatened Hezbollah, claiming that Hezbollah would receive a severe blow if it joined any Iranian attack against Israel.
