US diplomatic chief Antony Blinken spoke by telephone on Sunday with Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant about a “proposal to reach a total ceasefire” in the Gaza Strip in exchange for the release of hostages held by Hamas, the State Department said, according to AFP.
