Following the agreement reached between Hamas and the United States to release the American hostage with Israeli citizenship Edan Alexander under humanitarian access and a cease-fire principle, Netanyahu stated that his government has not accepted a “no” ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. Alexander was handed over to the Red Cross on the eve of Donald Trump’s tour of the region and in the midst of calls for negotiations for a permanent ceasefire.
