Irish public broadcaster RTÉ has announced that, as with this year, Ireland will not participate in the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest.
RTÉ said on Thursday that Ireland's participation in the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest could not be justified at this time due to the "shocking and ongoing death toll" in Gaza. The broadcaster also said the humanitarian crisis in the region continued to threaten civilian lives.
Ireland will not participate in the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest, which is scheduled to be held in Bulgaria, the country's public broadcaster RTE has announced. This means that one of the most historically successful Eurovision member states will boycott the contest for the second year in a row.
