Iran warned, on Sunday, the United States and its allies not to launch a new large-scale attack, claiming that it has information that such an operation would be in preparation and threatening sustained reprisals against American bases and interests, Reuters submits.
According to state media, Iran’s military central command warned that any new U.S. attack would trigger sustained reprisals against U.S. bases and interests, including its regional allies. Tehran did not elaborate on information about Washington’s alleged intention to resume its bombings, but the alert increases anxiety in the Middle East, already in tension after drone and missile attacks on Saudi Arabia.
The Iranian military has warned the US of new attacks on the country, and countries in the region that support attacks would also be regarded as accomplices and could not expect forbearance. The military called for unconfirmed reports of a meeting of U.S. representatives in which agreements on new attacks on Iran were to be reached.
