Trump predicts Iran war will end ‘immediately after the election’
Trump said Iran cannot sustain the conflict through the midterms and predicted oil and gas prices will fall after voting ends.
On Wednesday, President Donald Trump predicted the war with Iran will end "immediately after" the November midterm elections, claiming Tehran is attempting to influence the vote while resisting U.S. economic pressure.
Trump claimed Iran is desperate to secure a "nice group of weak people" in office to avoid defeat, asserting they "can't hold out any longer" against U.S. economic pressure and sanctions.
Benchmark Brent crude futures breached $100 a barrel amid escalating fighting, while U.S. energy costs reached record levels; diesel fuel hit nearly $6 a gallon according to AAA, up from $4.01 one month ago.
Dismissing potential talks, Trump stated that while a negotiation "could possibly happen," his administration is not currently pursuing discussions, citing how far the conflict has advanced.
