Iran accepts indirect nuclear talks with the US and E3 but rejects missile discussions, amid ongoing UN snapback sanctions and regional security tensions.
- On Saturday, Abbas Araghchi said, `We have no desire for direct talks with Washington, but can reach an agreement for indirect negotiations`, adding Iran will never negotiate its missile program.
- The United Nations reimposed snapback sanctions on Iran after failed talks with the United Kingdom, France and Germany, suspending enrichment activities and restricting missile technology transfers.
- Last week, Rafael Grossi, International Atomic Energy Agency director, said most of Iran's 60-percent enriched uranium remains at Isfahan, Fordo and Natanz, estimating roughly 400 kilograms still in Iranian possession, while Abbas Araghchi acknowledged nuclear materials remained under the rubble and insisted technology endures despite losses.
- Following Israel's strikes, Iran launched more than 500 ballistic missiles and over 1,000 drones at Israeli targets, killing 32 people; Abbas Araghchi warned of `dire consequences` and said Iran tested missiles `in real combat` and maintains full readiness.
- Araghchi said Iran insists it cannot stop uranium enrichment and rejects the United States' unacceptable conditions, warning that what cannot be achieved by war cannot be achieved through politics.
