On Wednesday, Iranian authorities released prize-winning rights lawyer Nasrin Sotoudeh on bail following her arrest last month, her daughter Mehraveh Khandan confirmed on Instagram.

This release follows Sunday's bail for Nobel Peace Prize winner Narges Mohammadi, who was transferred to a Tehran hospital for medical treatment as supporters say her life is in danger.
While Sotoudeh is free, it remains unclear what legal charges she faces, and her husband Reza Khandan has been held in an Iranian prison since December 2024.
