Europe wants to crack down hard on websites that stream sports illegally. A new report recommends requiring everyone, from internet service providers to VPNs, to block pirated streams within 30 minutes.
A study commissioned by the European Parliament considers that the fight against sports piracy remains too fragmented in the Union and now recommends a binding European framework, capable of imposing interventions in less than 30 minutes and extending the measures to VPNs, DNS or CDNs. An ambitious development, but far from being safe.
