Ionia resident pleads with city for help with sewer backups
The Ionia City Council last Wednesday approved phase one of the Steele Street Park project and the purchase of new Taser weapons for the police department. They also heard from a resident about a real stinker of a problem. During public comment, James Roberts, a resident of Skyview Trail, said sewage has backed up into his family’s home seven times since Dec. 31, 2025, costing him about $4,000 so far.
