26.02.2026 - A tick bite can not only cause Lyme disease, but recently other diseases too, such as those caused by the Tick-Borne Encephalitis virus (TBE). Exactly how such an infection occurs is not yet known. Researchers at Wageningen University & Research are growing 3D mini blood vessels to study the transmission of viruses that travel with ticks, mosquitoes and midges.
