- On Monday, Intuitive announced a lease agreement with Penang Development Corporation for a new 316,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Bandar Cassia Technology Park, Malaysia.
- Intuitive aims to support increasing demand across Asia Pacific, where its da Vinci surgical systems have enabled surgeons to treat more than 2.5 million patients over two decades.
- Mark Brosius, Executive Vice President, Chief Manufacturing and Supply Chain Officer, said the facility will help "consistently deliver the high-quality, innovative products our customers and patients depend on" when operations begin in 2028.
- By 2032, the site will create 1,200 highly skilled jobs; Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yew said the investment reflects "confidence that global industry leaders have in Penang's mature industrial ecosystem."
