He fled Afghanistan at the age of 24, when the Taliban took Kabul. From Germany he continued to manage and teach children and young women in the only active scientific association in his country.
Before the Taliban took power back to Afghanistan in 2021, Amena Karimyan had already faced difficulties in accessing information about astronomy. Now it is from Europe that he is fighting for the scientific teaching of the next generations.
