In 2024, there were 868 attempts to fly drones in prisons, compared with more than 5,000 in 2025 and 53,000 phones seized in 2023, 80,000 last year. On Friday morning, Gérald Darmanin presented a plan to eradicate the presence of mobile phones in prisons. A total of 29 million euros were invested to make prisons completely waterproof.
