- On Monday night at CinemaCon, Sony Pictures debuted the first trailer for "Insidious: Out of the Further," the sixth installment in the supernatural horror franchise currently unfolding at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
- The Insidious franchise, which began in 2010 with James Wan's original film, has built its mythology around "The Further," a purgatorial realm inhabited by tortured spirits seeking to infiltrate the world of the living.
- Amelia Eve stars as Gemma, a mother who discovers she can travel into The Further and uniquely bring spirits back to the real world; series mainstay Lin Shaye reprises her role as Elise Rainier.
- The horror series has accumulated more than $740 million at the global box office, with the previous 2023 entry "Insidious: The Red Door" becoming the highest-grossing title with just under $200M worldwide.
- Jacob Chase wrote and directed the new film, which is scheduled to hit theaters on August 21, introducing a new family and terror that redefines what The Further is capable of in the supernatural saga.
