Injured Madison Keys withdraws from French Open warmup tournament
The 19th-ranked American withdrew after retiring from the Clarins Trophy final while leading Diane Parry 6-3, 3-3.
American Madison Keys withdrew from the Strasbourg tournament on Monday due to a left-thigh injury, organizers announced.
Keys retired from the Clarins Trophy final against Diane Parry yesterday while leading 6-3, 3-3, prompting the withdrawal from the event in France.
Regarding her recovery priorities, Keys stated, "I've decided it's best to withdraw from Strasbourg to get healthy and ready to compete in Roland Garros."
The American won the Strasbourg title in 2024 and previously reached the semifinals at the clay-court Grand Slam in 2018.
Roland Garros begins in Paris in 6 days, giving Keys limited recovery time before the major tournament starts.
