INEM's pre-hospital emergency technicians challenge the reorganization of the national medical emergency device, but say they are available to negotiate with the government and admit to suspending the shutdown if the Executive presents solutions
The two-day general strike will take place on September 14 and 28. INEM technicians admit that embarrassments may arise in the response, but criticize what they claim to be the "dismantling" of the institute.
In question is the institution's new organic law and the "withdrawal" of 100 ambulances from the operational device.
The union also wants to bring doctors, nurses and other civil servants to a standstill.
The union claims that if the reform had already gone ahead, Marcelo would have had to wait until an ambulance could be found to take him to the hospital, and there was a "shortage of ambulances in the Algarve" yesterday.
Rui Lzaro added that if this ambulance were to be a light car of assistance, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa would have to wait until another was found to transport him to the hospital.
