Indigenous activist Simone Senogles remembered for advocacy, heart

Senogles co-founded MMIW 218 and led food sovereignty efforts, supporting Indigenous families and communities for over 25 years, according to organizers.

BEMIDJI — Inclusive, uplifting and beautiful are just a few words used to describe Simone Senogles. A defining figure of Indigenous activism, Senogles died unexpectedly on Saturday, Sept. 20, in Bemidji.
