India's net direct tax collections rise 13% to Rs 12.1 lakh crore till September 17 of FY27

Refunds climbed 29.19% to Rs 2.20 lakh crore even as corporate and non-corporate tax receipts lifted gross collections to Rs 14.32 lakh crore, officials said.

Indias net direct tax collections rose 12.96% year-on-year to Rs 12.12 lakh crore as of September 17, government data showed. Gross collections increased 15.19% to Rs 14.32 lakh crore, while refunds rose 29.19% to Rs 2.20 lakh crore. Corporate, non-corporate and Securities Transaction Tax collections all increased.
