India Lays Keel for First AI-Equipped Next Gen Offshore Patrol Vessel for ICG
INDIAN OCEAN REGION, JUL 21 – The 44th India-Indonesia Coordinated Patrol focused on preventing illegal activities and strengthening bilateral maritime security under India's MAHASAGAR vision, ongoing since 2002.
- Indian Naval Ship Saryu, LCU-55 and Dornier aircraft arrived for the post-deployment debriefing and closing ceremony at Belawan on Monday.
- Since 2002, India and Indonesia have carried out CORPATs to enhance regional security and prevent illegal activities, with the Embassy of India in Jakarta stating the 44th edition aims to bolster maritime cooperation and forge strong bonds.
- During the four-day visit, professional, cultural and goodwill activities aimed at boosting maritime collaboration.
- Both leaders acknowledged that the agreement enhances collaboration, implying stronger efforts to achieve safe and secure sea lanes in the region.
- Looking ahead, the mission aligns with India’s MAHASAGAR vision for regional security through shared maritime efforts, strengthening long-term maritime cooperation and capabilities.
