India has strongest growth outlook globally; 74% chief economists expect strong growth: WEF
India's growth outlook is the strongest globally, with 74 percent of economists expecting strong growth in 2026. Domestic demand continues to show resilience, though energy prices remain a significant concern. Only 45 percent of economists expect global conditions to weaken in the coming year, a significant decrease from previous assessments. Geopolitical conflicts are viewed as major risks to the economy, according to the report.
New Delhi, Sep 25 (IANS) India's growth prospects remain the strongest among all regions covered in the World Economic Forum's (WEF) latest outlook. 98 per cent of the chief economists surveyed expect India's economy to grow moderately or better over the next 12 months. Of these, 74 per cent expect strong or very strong growth in India, compared to 52 per cent in May. The WEF had raised India's growth forecast for the fiscal year 2026-27 to 6.
