OAXACA, OAX.- The Mexican Center for Environmental Law (CEMDA) documented in 2024 a total of 42 attacks and two extrajudicial executions against environmental human rights defenders; the highest figure compared to other entities in the country. In its “Report on the situation of environmental human rights defenders in Mexico 2024”, the organization specified that in Oaxaca, 15 aggression events were recorded with 42 specific attacks.
