Heat, Wind Expected to Test Ainslie Creek Containment Before Unsettled Weekend
BC Wildfire Service said 66,557-hectare Ainslie Creek fire is out of control as crews use planned ignition, aerial bucketing and pumping to slow spread.

- Eleven evacuation orders and 17 evacuation alerts remain in effect across the Brunswick Complex, while Highway 1 is closed for approximately 39 kilometres between Toll Road and Aspen Road due to debris.
- Winds are expected to accompany warm conditions today, resulting in further increased activity, while higher winds and possible thunderstorms forecast for Saturday will challenge ongoing containment efforts.
