In November 2024, there were 4,049 people “in a street situation”, whereas a year ago there were 3,286 people. This represents a rise of 763 people, 23.2% in that period. Of the total, 69.5% (2,813 people) were in a CIS (Centre for Social Inclusion) and 30.5% (1,236) in the public road, such as on the sidewalk, under a motorway or in ATMs, in most cases every day of the week. Also in most cases they are cartoneros, make changas or ask for money.
In November 2024, there were 4,049 street dwellers in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (CABA), 69.5 per cent (2,813) of whom were in a Social Inclusion Centre (CIS) and 30.5 per cent (1,236) on the public road.
