Travelers who drive by car must expect higher fuel prices in many popular countries compared to Austria. According to a VCÖ analysis, prices are particularly high in Italy, Germany, France, Greece, and Portugal. In contrast, refueling is cheaper than in Austria in Croatia, Spain, Slovenia, Bulgaria, and Turkey.
Fuel is more expensive in some countries than in Austria. Anyone who goes on holiday by car this year will have to pay higher fuel prices in many popular holiday destinations.
Given that school holidays in the eastern part of Austria begin on Friday, and a week later in the rest of the country, a large wave of travelers to foreign destinations is expected.
