He has been managing a broad portfolio from nuclear negotiations to Teheran’s regional ties to its violent suppression of internal unrest.
He is as conservative as you have to be in order to make it up in the Islamic Republic. Above all, however, he is the 67-year-old pragmatist – and so he will also wage this war.
