In the face of violence against demonstrators in Iran, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Turk, has criticised the regime's actions.
"The security forces illegally used assault rifles, shotguns, water cannons, tear gas and blows to disperse, intimidate and punish largely peaceful demonstrators," the two organizations described in a joint communiqué.
