Immigration minister says he will ‘evaluate different scenarios’ on PEQ
Caught between the leadership candidates and his government, Immigration Minister Jean-François Roberge is trying to buy time by announcing that his department will “evaluate different scenarios” to allow for a “transition period” between two immigration programs: the Quebec Experience Program (PEQ) and the Skilled Worker Selection Program (PSTQ).
The Minister opens the door to immigration transition measures.
The Minister of Immigration, Francisation and Integration also avoided renewing his support for Christine Fréchette.
Under pressure since the abolition of the Program de l'expérience québécoise (PEQ), Minister Jean-François Roberge is now considering "transitional scenarios" to "soothe the climate" and facilitate the decision-making of the next Prime Minister.
