‘I’m not going to apologise’: Kwasi Kwarteng’s refused apology over UK’s mini-budget crisis

Former UK chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng says he will not apologise for implementing the 2022 September mini-budget that sparked chaos in the mortgage market and threatened to topple pension funds. “We could have done things better but I’m not going to apologise, I’m not apologising for the strat, I think it was the right strategy, but the implementation was wrong,” Mr Kwarteng told Sky News Australia host Piers Morgan.
