Illes Balears starts work on prevention of ‘forest fires’ and control of ‘invasive species’

According to article 148 of the Spanish Constitution, it is the Autonomous Communities that assume the powers in the field of forests and forest development, and the management in the field of environmental protection through their autonomous statutes; therefore, it is the Autonomous Communities that are competent in the prevention and extinction of forest fires in their territories, designing their own devices to that end.
