IKEA Opening First Store in Oklahoma in 2026
IKEA's Tulsa Hills store will cover 51,000 sq ft as part of four new U.S. locations opening in 2026 to expand customer access and convenience.
On Tuesday, February 17, IKEA, the Swedish-based retailer, said it plans to open its first Oklahoma store in Tulsa in 2026, among four U.S. locations.
IKEA U.S. said the new stores expand customer access through new formats, alongside its FY25 Annual Summary reporting $5.3 billion sales and over 61 million visits in 2025 fiscal year.
Tulsa's store will be housed at Tulsa Hills Shopping Center, 7309 S Olympia Ave, occupying 51,000 square feet in the former Belk building with a 3,000-item inventory including 200 small furniture items.
City officials project $30-40 million in revenue for the City of Tulsa and over $100 million for the Tulsa Hills area, while Tulsa City Council will work with IKEA on an economic resolution.
This year, IKEA has not announced an exact opening date, but IKEA Tulsa is expected in fall of 2026, drawing shoppers from Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas and Missouri; the nearest store is in Frisco, Texas.
