The history of my island is deeply marked by the resilience to deportation and its natural wealth. Before being a permanent village in 1767, Cocagne served as a temporary refuge at the beginning of the Great Derangement. Led by four Acadian families who had returned from exile to the Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon Islands and settled there, the "land of Cocagne" is now integrated into the municipality of Beausoleil.
