- On Thursday, an Israeli airstrike in al-Mawasi killed Muhammad Yazouri, the commander of Hamas's Khan Yunis Brigade, the IDF and Shin Bet confirmed Friday.
- Before commanding the Khan Yunis Brigade, Yazouri served as deputy commander, head of the brigade's intelligence department, and directed attacks against Israeli civilians and troops.
- The strike also killed company commander Hudheifa Muammar and Muhammad Bahjat Rashi, according to the IDF, after targeting a vehicle in the Hamad neighborhood north of Khan Yunis.
- Although Yazouri survived several previous assassination attempts, including a 2021 encounter with Yahya Sinwar, Hamas leader, Hamas sources reported delays in identifying his body after Thursday's strike.
