Ice cream sold in 17 states recalled for potential metal fragments
The company is working with retailers to remove affected tubs and is offering vouchers, while the FDA said no injuries have been reported.
Straus Family Creamery voluntarily recalled its Organic Super Premium Ice Cream on Thursday due to potential metal fragments in products sold across 17 states.
The company identified foreign metal material in specific production runs, prompting notification to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and removal efforts from retail shelves.
Affected items include Vanilla Bean, Strawberry, Cookie Dough, Dutch Chocolate, and Mint Chip flavors, identified by "best by" dates ranging from Dec. 23 to Dec. 30, 2026.
Consumers should immediately discard the recalled ice cream rather than returning it to retailers, while Straus offers replacement vouchers through its website.
No injuries have been reported since products appeared on shelves May 4, and customers with questions may contact Straus at 1-707-776-2887 Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT.
The company manufacturer Strauss Family Creamery informed its customers in a statement that it will not offer refunds for the withdrawal of the product
