Speaking to the IAEA's Board of Governors, Grossi said the watchdog's lack of information on Iran’s nuclear program is a "serious proliferation concern" and "needs to be rectified."
The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency urged Tehran to resume the dialogue and allow inspectors to enter its facilities again. The claim comes as the United States, the United Kingdom, France and Germany press to bring the case to the UN.
The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, asked Iran to allow inspectors access to the country's nuclear facilities. Tehran has denied information and access to the organ since the 12 day war in 2025, when the United States and Israel attacked some of the main power plants.
The UN nuclear surveillance body stated that Iran did not provide any information about its declared nuclear materials or facilities and that the inspectors had no access to on-the-spot verification, because Tehran threatened to retaliate against South Korea if it would join the Gulf maritime operations, and the President of the Iranian Parliament warned that US energy assets in regional waters were facing mutual attacks.
Vienna: IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi said that during the recent period, the Agency had not received any information from Iran on the status of declared nuclear material or facilities, nor had it been able to access any of these facilities for field verifications.
